Presidential flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for the 2024 Ghana Elections, John Dramani Mahama, has stated that the NDC will address the problems of the Black Stars when voted into power after December 7.

He said this while campaigning ahead of the crucial Ghana Presidential and Parliamentary Elections on December 7 in the wake of Ghana’s failure to qualify to the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Ghana’s Black Stars failed to win a game in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers to finish bottom of Group F and miss out on competing in the AFCON for the first time in 20 years.

The poor qualification campaign was highlighted by the Black Stars going winless at home after drawing goalless with Sudan and losing 2-1 to Niger and 1-0 to Angola respectively and former President John Mahama is adamant the next NDC government will address the problems affecting the team.

“Every sector of the economy has been ruined by the NPP administration even the Black stars has been impacted. For the first time in 20 years, the team couldn’t qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations. Don’t worry, we (NDC) will address the problems of the Black stars in our next administration.”
