Former Sekondi Hasaacas player Kwabena Baidoo has tragically lost his life while serving as a polling agent for Kukua Bissue, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ahanta West Constituency.

The accident occurred as Baidoo and other polling agents were transporting ballot boxes and pink sheets to the constituency’s collation centre.

His brother, Emmanuel Quarm, confirmed the heartbreaking news during an interview with Connect 97.1 FM.

“Kwabena was working as a polling agent for Kukua Bissue.

He was in high spirits after the results at his polling station showed his candidate had won. However, while heading to the collation centre on a motorbike with other agents, he was involved in an accident, hitting his head on the road,” Quarm recounted.

Baidoo was quickly taken to the Axim Government Hospital but sadly passed away on Sunday morning, December 8, 2024, from his injuries.

The football and political communities are mourning this tragic loss, with funeral arrangements yet to be announced.
