Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew has stated that his team failed to grab a win at Anfield against Liverpool because it missed out on the key moments of the game.
He said this in a post-game interview to Leicester media after The Foxes lost 3-1 to Liverpool on Boxing Day after scoring the game’s first through Jordan Ayew. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
The Black Stars player’s fourth league goal in 17 games came off great work by the veteran forward who spun sharply to fend off Andrew Robertson after receiving a pass from Stephy Mavididi before sweeping his shot into the bottom corner of the net.
However, Cody Gakpo scored for Liverpool in the 46th minute and Ayew believes such key moments hurt Leicester’s winning chances. (Curtis Jones and Mohammed Salah scored in the second half for Liverpool)
“Started well the first half, we did very well, just unlucky, unfortunate we conceded just before half time. Just the key moments but I think…we just need to continue like this with the same character, same fighting spirit and we will be fine in the league.”

At the time of writing, Leicester City rank 18th in the league standings.
