Manchester City’s star forward, Erling Haaland, has signed an extraordinary nine-and-a-half-year contract extension that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2034.

Haaland’s initial contract, which was set to run until June 2027, has now been extended, underlining City’s intent to retain their talismanic striker.

Sources close to the negotiations suggest the agreement reflects Haaland’s immense contributions since arriving at the club, with improved terms recognizing his role as a key figure in the team.

The 24-year-old Norwegian has been instrumental in Manchester City’s successes, particularly their historic treble-winning campaign last season.

Haaland’s debut year saw him score more than 50 goals, shattering records in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

His rapid impact has made him a fan favorite and one of the most feared strikers in the world.

By committing to a long-term future with Manchester City, Haaland is setting the stage to cement his legacy as one of the greatest players to ever wear the sky-blue jersey. This deal also signals his belief in the club’s vision under Pep Guardiola, despite a challenging season so far.

A Significant Boost for Manchester City

This extension is a major win for Manchester City as they continue to rebuild and aim for sustained dominance. Haaland’s commitment offers stability to City’s attack and reinforces the team’s ambition to attract elite players.

The move also comes at a critical time for Guardiola’s side, who are currently sixth in the Premier League table and facing an inconsistent campaign.

Recent potential  additions to the squad, including Vitor Reis, Claudio Echeverri, Abdukodir Khusanov, Omar Marmoush, and 17-year-old Christian Macfarlane, highlight City’s focus on coming back better and stronger after the second half of the season
