The Italian-German had been under pressure following a series of disappointing results, with his side winning just two of their past 10 games.
Tedesco’s last match in charge had Belgium slump to a 1-0 Nations League defeat against Israel in November and meant the Red Devils finished third in their group.
In a statement, the Belgian FA said the national team “did not perform as we hoped” in the Nations League and at Euro 2024, where they lost to France at the last-16 stage.
“Domenico made an excellent start as national coach and proved that there are still great things possible, even after the send-off of the previous generation. He has integrated a number of young players into the team, and his successor can build on this.

We would like to thank him and his team for the pleasant cooperation, their hard work and dedication, and wish them all the best for the future” Peter Willems, CEO RBFA said.
Tedesco was appointed in February 2023, taking over from Roberto Martinez following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 39-year-old’s tenure started brightly with a 13-game unbeaten run, but the Euro 2024 performance was a letdown.
The search for a new coaching staff is however according to the Belgian FA is proceeding smoothly. On 20 and 23 March, the Red Devils will play two Nations League play-off matches under the new national coach.
