Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA) Osman Ayariga has decried the deplorable state of the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex.
He then promised that refurbishing the multi-sport edifice will remain a priority project for the NYA under his watch as CEO.
The recently named CEO of the NYA said this when he toured the run down sports facility with an entourage that included Okaikwei South Constituency Member of Parliament, Ernest Adomako.
The facility, named after legendary Ghanaian boxer Azumah Nelson, hasn’t had a major facelift for several years despite similar promises made by former Sports Minister but Osman Ayariga believes he will end this cycle and improve the facility.

“I will take this on. I will make it a priority project for the National Youth Authority and just as we also have a Youth Ministry, we will also take it up as a priority project for the Youth Ministry and at least we will bring some light and some shine to the great name of Professor Azumah Nelson.”
