Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko, has stated the reason for his move from Accra Lions to the Mauve and Yellow.
He said this in his first interview as Medeama head coach after signing a two and a half year deal to replace Nebojsa Kapor as head coach of the Tarkwa based side.
Tanko guided Accra Lions to finish second in the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League standings; Lions ended the campaign behind league winner FC Samartex 1996.
After a three year run with Lions, Tanko believes it was time to do something else and that is what led him to leave the club and join Medeama.
“After three years, I just decided maybe I want to something else so that’s the reason. I am still fine with the (Lions) team owners. There is no misunderstanding, I just decided to do something different and they allowed me.”
