Coventry City Football Club manager, Frank Lampard, says he won’t criticize Black Stars forward Brandon Solomon Thomas-Asante after the 26 year old missed a big chance in Coventry’s 2-1 loss to Norwich City.
Coventry lost the game after fellow Black Stars player, Forson Amankwah, scored twice in four minutes in the 91st and 94th minute respectively. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Prior to Amankwah’s brilliant brace off the bench, Thomas-Asante, who is competing in his debut season with Coventry, missed a big chance in the second half when put through on goal at a time Coventry held a 1-0 lead.
In his post-game interview, Lampard reflected on the loss and Thomas-Asante’s key moment but refused to criticize the former West Bromwich Albion forward.
“I’m never one to criticize, everyone wants to score. If we get that right we probably win the game, but it wasn’t to be…if he would have scored his chance, he would have fully deserved that” Lampard stated.
