Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has praised striker Kwame Opoku for adapting quickly to Kotoko on his return to the club.
After spending time competing in the Algerian and Moroccan leagues following his first stint at the Porcupine Warriors, Opoku returned to Kotoko in December in 2024.
He bagged his second goal in as many games as Kotoko drew 1-1 with Medeama at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa; Opoku got his goal in the 44th minute.
In his post-game interview, Dr. Ogum was happy the striker has settled quickly in quickly stating,
“I’m proud of him…once he keeps scoring, he will gain the confidence. His colleague will also have confidence in him. I’m proud of him he’s been able to adapt quickly and he is getting us the goals; that is the reason why we brought him the goals.”

Kotoko rank sixth in the standings with 28 points, two points behind league leaders Kpando Heart of Lions.
