The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of three individuals following violent disturbances that marred the football match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC on February 2, 2025, at Nsoatre in the Bono Region. The incident tragically resulted in the death of a Kotoko fan.
The suspects Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Agyemang Duah Owusu, and Kyeremeh Joseph are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
In a significant breakthrough, a search of Agyemang Duah Owusuβs residence led to the discovery of two dresses with suspected bloodstains and an MP 23 pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.
In the wake of the tragedy, the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, reached out to the family of the deceased and the leadership of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC to offer his condolences and assured them of a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.

To expedite the probe, a special team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters has been dispatched to support the Bono Regional Police Command in unravelling the circumstances surrounding the violence.
