Hearts-Kotoko joint position on crowd violence wasn’t necessary after meeting GFA- Alhaji Akanbi

Following the GFA Executive Council (EXCO)’s meeting with Ghana Premier League club CEOs and Chairmen, former Hearts of Oak board member, Alhaji Akanbi, has explained why Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko did not submit their anticipated joint position paper.

According to him, the two clubs ultimately felt that the submission was not necessary at this stage.

“During the meeting, we realized it is not necessary for us to do any submission because almost what ever we have is the same as what we met here especially the clubs it is the same as what we are fighting for”

Alhaji Akanbi stated, confirming that both clubs had reconsidered their approach.

With this development, it remains to be seen whether Hearts of Oak and Kotoko will revisit their proposal or adopt a different strategy to push for reforms within Ghanaian football.
