Dreams FC General Manager, Ameenu Shardow, has expressed disappointment in Ghana Premier League (GPL) clubs for failing to abide by regulations they collectively adopted over the years.
His concerns come in the wake of a tragic incident during the Week 19 fixture between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, where popular Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw “Pooley” Frimpong lost his life at Nsoatre.
Following the unfortunate event, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Pooley’s death.
Six individuals have been arrested in connection with the violent clashes at Nsoatre including Nsoatreman FC Executive Chairman Ignatius Baffour Awuah.
In response, the CEOs and General Managers of GPL clubs convened at the GFA Secretariat to address growing concerns over security and regulatory enforcement. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

It is simply by enforcing the rules and regulations to abide by because over the years I think collectively as industry players we have failed to live up to the regulations we collectively accepted and adopted, so going forward we have to go according to the strict compliance and adherence of the rules and regulations.

It affects all of us, everything that has culminated in what happened in Nsoatreman, is a culmination of, for the want of better words, non-compliance to the rules and regulations we set for ourselves so all of us needed to come together to more or less reinforce our position on Compliance.

The GFA has also scheduled an emergency meeting with the leadership of supporters’ groups from all Premier League clubs.
This follows their earlier engagement with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to discuss measures to improve security at league matches.
