Otumfuo Osei Tutu II adopts slain Kotoko fan’s children

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has adopted the children of the late Francis Frimpong, affectionately known as Pooley, a passionate supporter of the club. The revered monarch has established an educational fund in their name with all funds dedicated to them.

This heartfelt gesture follows the tragic passing of Pooley, after he was stabbed multiple times when violence erupted during Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League clash against Nsoatreman FC at Nsoatre.

Through this initiative, Pooley’s children will have access to quality education, securing their future despite their father’s untimely demise courtesy Otumfuo’s intervention.

A one week observation ceremony to mark Pooley’s passing has been scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 16 at the Baba Yara Stadium’s Heroes Park.

Kotoko held a vigil at the Baba Yara Stadium to mark Pooley’s passing this past weekend; fellow Ghana Premier League club Bechem United held a similar event.

The Ghana Football Association, Ghana League Clubs Association have held meetings with the Ghana Police Service and other Ghana football stakeholders.
