The Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams will attend the launch and balloting ceremony of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League on Tuesday, 18th February 2025 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

He confirmed this during a visit by a delegation from the University of Ghana Sports & Wellness Directorate and RITE Sports Services, who congratulated him on his appointment and briefed him on the upcoming corporate league.

During the meeting, Adams praised the organizers for introducing such an innovative initiative, recognizing its potential to enhance corporate fitness, networking, and recreation.

He pledged his ministry’s full support for the league, emphasizing the government’s commitment to promoting sports participation at all levels.

The UG Corporate Football League is a highly anticipated football competition to foster camaraderie, fitness, and teamwork among Ghana’s corporate institutions and Colleges at the University of Ghana.

The league is set to run for twenty (20) weeks, from the end of February to July 2025 featuring sixteen (16) Teams from various industries.

It builds on the success of the UG Corporate Football Gala, which was played in November 2024 and was won by “Union Ghana”.

The competition will be held under the floodlights of the University of Ghana Stadium every Friday night, creating an exciting atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

Some of Ghana’s top corporate institutions participating are Stanbic Bank, National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sorts Club, UG Alumni Association, Lancaster Hotel, Ghana National Petroleum Authority, Forestry Commission, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Bui Power Authority and Union Ghana (defending champions of the UG Corporate Football Gala)

With Kofi Adams’s endorsement, the UG Corporate Football League is set to become a premier sporting event on Ghana’s corporate calendar.

The initiative not only promotes healthy living but also strengthens business relationships through sports.

As the league kicks off, corporate Ghana will have the opportunity to engage in a competitive yet recreational football experience, setting a new standard for workplace wellness and networking.
