Enzo Maresca has provided the latest Chelsea team news ahead of the Blues’ Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Maresca’s side make the trip to the Amex Stadium for the second time in less than a week on Friday. The west Londoners were knocked out of the FA Cup by the Seagulls last Saturday and now return looking for revenge.
Chelsea will be without Nicolas Jackson, though, with the striker expected to be out until at least April due to a hamstring injury. Maresca confirmed the 23-year-old, who has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 23 league games this season, will be missing for six to eight weeks.
“Nico will be out until the international break, probably available after the international break. Marc Guiu will be out for a while.”

“We knew it was a muscular problem but not how important it was. His reaction was good so we didn’t think it was a big injury. Unfortunately he had the scan and it is an important one – he will be out for six to eight weeks.”

“Christo (Christopher Nkunku) is a solution but not the only solution…with the transfer window closed, everyone is here and he can help us until the end. We are working to find a different solution. It can be Christo but also a different kind of player.”

The former Leicester boss was even asked if one of his wingers could be deployed in the striker role. “Could be a solution,” he said.
