Head coach of Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team, Kim Lars Björkegren, is bullish about the future of his team.
He showed this in his post-game interview following the Black Queens 1-0 loss to African powerhouse Morocco in a friendly game.
The friendly outing marked Björkegren’s first game in charge officially of the team and despite conceding in the 92nd minute, the experienced Swede trainer had a positive outlook on the game before adding that, (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“It’s really good and fun for us to see that we have the potential to play against a good team, away game…they have been with the same coach for one and a half years, I have just been (in charge) for a couple of trainings so I think that the future is so bright and we are just going to keep working hard.”

“We are going to learn from this game, it was a really good game for us and we are going to make sure that we are prepared for the summer (Women’s AFCON)”.

Björkegren replaced Nora Hauptle as Black Queens head coach in January, 2025.
