Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, has called on anyone with information surrounding the death of Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan, Francis Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, to come forward .
The GFA President made these comments after meeting with the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko in Kumasi on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Pooley was stabbed multiple times when Kotoko played against Nsoatreman FC in a Ghana Premier League game at Nsoatre. Pooley died from the stab wounds and a One Week Funeral Observation was held for him recently.
Whoever was with the killer when Nana Pooley was stabbed must be honest and come forward. If that person values life and football, they must speak out and reveal the killer’s whereabouts. We are ready to chase the killer” Kurt Okraku said.

Mr. Okraku also briefed the IMC on the measures the GFA has taken so far to enhance security at match venues after the crunch meeting.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) stands in solidarity with Asante Kotoko and the entire football family during this period of grief and we remain committed to ensuring that justice is served not only for football but also for the Asante Kotoko family and the memory of Nana Pooley.

The meeting is part of GFA’s efforts to engage with stakeholders and find solutions to the challenges facing the league.
