Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, has termed the GRA’s Female Hockey Team’s latest successful outing as success not just for the team but for Ghana too.
He said this in his speech delivered when the GRA Hockey Ladies presented the 2025 Africa for Club Championship title to him.
The team defeated Smouha from Egypt in this year’s final that had Team GRA win its second title in a row and fifth overall.
Head coach of the team, Idah Marmon-Halm, GRA’s Head of Sports, Ebenezer Frimpong and other dignitaries were present at the brief ceremony.
“I am glad that you’ve made it and you are presenting this success to us. I like to assure you that this is not a success just for yourself. It’s a success to us as GRA and success for the nation. It’s an example for all of us in GRA…your success is something that encourages all of us.”

On her part, captain of the team and 2025 SWAG (Sports Writers Association of Ghana) Awards Hockey Player of the Year, Elizabeth Opoku, thanked the Commissioner-General for supporting each member of the playing unit with 10,000 Ghana Cedis.
