Head coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, Black Stars, Otto Addo has paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, seeking his support ahead of crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for Ghana later this month.
The Black Stars take on Chad and Madagascar on March 21 and 24 respectively in Accra and Morocco in Group I with Ghana ranked second but tied on points (nine) with group leaders Comoros.
Ghana head into the game on the back of a disastrous 2025 AFCON qualification campaign that had the Black Stars fail to qualify to the continental championship for the first time in 20 years.
Otto Addo visited the Ga Mantse’s Palace and sought the support of the King for the team as Ghana bids to qualify to compete at the World Cup for the fifth time.
“We seek for your support, for your guidance. We have difficult matches, difficult task ahead of us; I think Ghana needs urgently victories to go to the World Cup and for that I think we need the support of all Ghanaians especially also the Ga people and the Ga Chief to support us in our task.”

Next year’s World Cup will be co-hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico.
