Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has pointed to increasing its conversion rate as the main area that the club needs to improve two games after returning to action.
He said this in a post-game interview after Kotoko beat Sekondi XI Wise 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in the MTN FA Cup round of 16 stage.
The win, courtesy a Kyei Baffour strike in the first half, qualified Kotoko to the quarterfinals and sets up a clash against True Democracy.
Kotoko suspended all football activities following the death of popular Kotoko fan Francis “Pooley” Frimpong who died from stab wounds sustained during violent clashes during a Ghana Premier League game.
Reflecting on the win, Dr. Ogum stated that Kotoko need to utilize their chances better.

“Defensively we looked very solid, offensively, there is a lot of creativity there, what is left is to put the ball at the back of the net. Like you saw today, look at the first half, the first 15 minutes, obvious opportunities we were missing them. What do I think out of the two games we have to improve? I think it’s all about conversion. Once we are able to work on our conversion that will be fine for us.”
