Asante Kotoko secured a quarter-final berth in the MTN FA Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Eleven Wise at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Elvis Kyei’s decisive first-half strike proved enough to see off the spirited challenge from the visitors, keeping the Porcupine Warriors’ silverware ambitions alive.

The match had initially been postponed following the passing of Nana Pooley, as Kotoko awaited confirmation that their demands had been met.

Rescheduled for March 12, 2025, the fixture finally took place, with Kotoko determined to progress.

The breakthrough came in the 44th minute when winger Elvis Kyei delivered a pinpoint cross into the box.

Timing his run to perfection, he fired a low, clinical shot past Eleven Wise goalkeeper, igniting celebrations among the home fans just before halftime.

Kyei’s match-winning performance further highlighted his growing influence within the squad.

With this victory, Kotoko now sets their sights on the next round, where they will face True Democracy in what promises to be another thrilling encounter in the MTN FA Cup.
