Ahead of the upcoming clashes against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) President Mr. Kurt Okraku led the Black Stars technical team on a courtesy visit to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, at his office on Monday, March 3, 2025.

The meeting aimed to introduce the newly assembled technical team to the Minister and seek the blessings of the Sports Minister as the GFA prepares to steer the national team toward success in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

During the visit, Mr. Okraku expressed his confidence in the team’s capabilities and emphasized the importance of the Minister’s support to ensure their success.

He highlighted the critical role the Black Stars play in uniting the nation and their ambition to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana’s Sports Minister Kofi Adams warmly welcomed the delegation, advocating for a collaborative “all hands on deck” approach to maximize the team’s potential.

He assured the team of his open-door policy, encouraging them to reach out whenever his intervention is needed on any matter.

The Minister urged the technical team to work cohesively and strategically to secure Ghana’s qualification for the global tournament.

The meeting included key members of the Black Stars technical team: head coach Otto Addo, technical director Mr. Winfried Schäfer, and assistant coach Desmond Ofei.

The Black Stars are set to face Chad on March 21, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium for Matchday 5 of the World Cup qualifiers, followed by a clash against Madagascar in Morocco for Matchday 6.
