Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has stated that his team will deliver a positive result against Chad on Friday in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers but declined to tag himself as a World Cup qualification expert.
He said this in a pre-game press conference ahead of Ghana’s qualifier against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium at 19:00 GMT.
Despite failing to win a game en route to missing out qualifying to compete at the 2025 AFCON, Otto Addo’s Black Stars have fared way better in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers by picking three wins in four games.
The situation was the same in Otto Addo’s first run with the Black Stars as head coach as he guided Ghana to qualify to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after Ghana crashed early out of the 2023 AFCON without registering a win.

“Now we have everything in our own hands which is very important, very good for us and this is really positive. I am very sure we will deliver [against Chad]. I’m not, I can’t call myself [an] expert…I always want to win” Otto Addo said.

Ghana is seeking to qualify to the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time.
