Samson Deen, President of both the African Paralympic Committee (AfPC) and the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC-Ghana), donated food items to Paralympic federations and their athletes in Accra on Thursday morning.
During the holy month of Ramadan, he urged the recipients to remain focused and united, emphasizing solidarity within the Paralympic community.

The donation event, held at the AfPC premises in Accra, brought together representatives from five federations and athletes from various sports, showcasing a strong display of collaboration.

Federation heads joined Deen to distribute the gifts, which included 100 bags of rice, 50 gallons of oil, 50 bags of sugar and salt, 50 tins of tomatoes, and other consumables to support the athletes’ efforts.
The athletes expressed deep gratitude for Deen’s generosity, pledging to honour his support by striving to make Ghana proud.
Wheelchair tennis player Bridget Nartey, speaking on behalf of the para-athletes, specifically thanked Deen for the donations, highlighting their significance to the Wheelchair Tennis team and beyond.
Henry Larbi, General Secretary of NPC-Ghana, commended the athletes for attending and assured them that the initiative would extend beyond Accra.
“We’re starting with para-athletes here, but we’ll soon reach other regions, spreading these benefits and opportunities to more athletes,” he said, fostering optimism about the Paralympic community’s growth across Ghana.
