Tariq Lamptey will be an option to be selected to compete in Brighton and Hove Albion’s English Premier League tie against Manchester City on Saturday, March 15 at the Etihad Stadium.
This is according to Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler who made this known in a pre-game press conference ahead of the weekend clash.
Lamptey missed Brighton’s 2-1 league win over Fulham due to a red card he received in Brighton’s FA Cup win over Newcastle.
The 24 year old right full back’s return is crucial for the Seagulls who are looking to win a seventh straight game after registering two goals and two assists in 13 league games despite largely playing out of position on the left side.
“He-Tariq Lamptey-will be an option [after serving his suspension]” Hurzeler said while briefing the media on team news ahead of the Man City matchup.

Lamptey’s potential involvement in Brighton’s game on Saturday raises some questions over his injury related absence from Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with Lamptey among 12 players set to miss the qualifiers due to varied injuries.

Ghana’s Black Stars take on Chad and Madagascar on March 21 and 24 respectively with Ghana heading into the contest after failing to qualify to the 2025 AFCON.
