Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has called for a financial budget to be dedicated towards maintaining sports facilities in Ghana. He doubles as the Minority Chief Whip in Ghana’s Parliament.
He said this in his address on the floor of Ghana’s Parliament while discussing the budget allocation of 65 Million Ghana Cedis to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.
His statement was a follow up to the issue raised by Member of Parliament for Bimbilla Constituency, Dominic Nitiwul, who called for Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, to give more money to the Sports Ministry to maintain sports facilities. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“There should be a line budget dedicated for the maintenance of these sports facilities because we’ve invested so much into these infrastructures and it cannot be the case that we leave it as it is until we have a tournament coming before we go in there.”

“It has to be traditionally done and is something we must do to make sure that the national assets don’t run down. We (parliamentarians) will approve the budget contingent on you [Chairman Henry Ernest Norgbey and Ranking Member of Sports Committee of Parliament] following up, Chairman follow up to make sure we get allocation for capers.”
