Asante Kotoko appoints Abdul Karim Zito as Head Coach after Ogum’s dismissal

Abdul Karim Zito has been appointed as Technical Director and will serve as Acting Head Coach on an interim basis until a permanent head coach is named.

Abdul Karim Zito, who is a former Asante Kotoko player and coach, brings extensive experience, having led Dreams FC to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals and guided Ghana’s U-20 team to the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations title.

New Assistant Coach: Prince Yaw Owusu
Prince Yaw Owusu joins as Assistant Coach, bringing over 20 years of coaching experience from Ghana, Sudan, and the United States. His notable roles include head coach of Medeama SC, Inter Allies, Khartoum National Club, and the Ghana U-20 team, as well as assistant coach for the U-17 national side. Renowned for player development, Owusu has nurtured talents who now play for top clubs like AC Milan, Genoa, Sassuolo, and Fiorentina.

New Technical Advisor: Malik Jabir
Malik Jabir, previously Technical Director, will transition to the role of Technical Advisor, providing strategic guidance to support the club’s long-term goals.

These changes reflect Asante Kotoko’s commitment to building a robust technical framework to achieve excellence on and off the pitch.
