Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has confirmed that Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford sustained an injury that may rule him out for the rest of the season.
Rashford missed Aston Villa’s 3-0 FA Cup semifinal defeat against Crystal Palace after picking an injury during training earlier in the week.
In Rashford’s absence, Ollie Watkins led the line for Villa but was unable to be impactful as Eberechi Eze’s goal and a double from Ismaila Sarr secured Palace a spot in the final, where they will face either Manchester City.
Speaking after the game [as quoted by Birmingham World], Emery gave an update on Rashford and why he was not available.
“He is injured. He got injured this week and yesterday we did a test.”

“It is his hamstring. We are going to try to test him each match but he is injured and probably some weeks he won’t be available.”

Rashford joined Villa in January after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim and has had an impact at Villa Park.

In his 17 appearances for the club, he has scored four goals and provided six assists. With just a month of action and four games left – including a trip to Old Trafford on the final day – there is a very good chance that Rashford’s season is already over.
