The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA),Prosper Addo, faced a setback in his ambition to secure a seat on the Executive Board of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).

Despite a spirited campaign, Addo garnered 28 votes, falling short of the required threshold to claim one of the coveted positions.

The election saw George Lamptey emerge victorious with 34 votes, while Delphina Quaye led the pack with an impressive 53 votes.

Kamal Sulley secured 50 votes, Richmond Quarcoo earned 46 votes, and George Tettey polled 40 votes, all clinching their spots on the board.

The competitive nature of the election underscored the high stakes and the diverse representation sought for the GOC’s leadership.

The GOC Executive Board comprises representatives from various categories: five slots for Olympic Sports, one for Non-Olympic Sports, one for Affiliate Bodies, and three Co-opted Members.

The newly elected board members will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Olympic sports in Ghana, fostering collaboration between federations, and driving initiatives to elevate the nation’s performance on the global stage.
