The Communication Director of Medeama SC, Nana Effah Asare, has admitted that the club will have no one else to blame but themselves if they fail to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.
Medeama currently sit 5th on the league table after 26 matches, recording 12 wins, 5 draws, and 9 losses.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Effah revealed that the club has held several internal meetings involving the board, management, technical team, and playing body, all centered on the goal of winning the league this season.
He stressed that the responsibility now lies with the club to deliver on that ambition.
If we fail to get the ultimate, if we fail to get a trophy, I mean, we have ourselves to be blamed because before the commencement of the season, we sat down from board management, technical and the playing body perspective. We talked a lot with regards to winning 2024-2025 next season. So we are very focused, though we have a huge task ahead of us on the league log.
Effah also stressed the club’s determination to return to continental football after a recent stint in Africa brought Medeama valuable experience and exposure.
“We are fighting very hard, working very hard to get the ultimate.
We need to go to Africa again because it gave us a nice opportunity.
It catapulted the Medeama Sporting Club, it projected the Medeama Sporting Club to the apex.
So we are very aware that there is a task ahead. We need to get the job done.
So we are doing anything, normally possible to get the ultimate.”
With seven games left in the season, the Yellow and Mauves will need to maintain consistency and intensity if they are to fulfill their bold aspirations.
