Administrative Manager of Hohoe United, Yusif Alhassan, has reaffirmed the club’s ambitious vision of becoming the first team from the Hohoe Municipality to play in the Ghana Premier League.

The Division One League leaders have enjoyed a stellar season, winning all 12 of their home games and consistently performing on the road.

These results have propelled them to the top of Zone Three of the Access Bank Division One League with 51 points, putting them in a prime position for promotion.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Alhassan shared how the club’s long-term vision began last season and has fueled their determination.

It’s always been the ambition of the club to play in the Ghana Premier League.

It started right from last season when the Hohoe United project began.

Last year, we were one of the top-performing clubs across all three Division One zones, but we fell short of qualification, finishing joint second with Okwawu United.

After that disappointment, we immediately refocused. We told ourselves, ‘The dream hasn’t been realized, but we’re not going to compromise on it.’ So from the very start of this season, our goal has been clear: to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Beyond qualification, Alhassan highlighted the significance of their achievement, not just for the club but for the Hohoe Municipality as a whole.

This isn’t just about promotion; it’s about making history.

The Hohoe Municipality has never had a Premier League club, and achieving this will bring top-flight football to our people for the first time.

With their current form and a clear roadmap, Hohoe United stands on the brink of history, setting the stage for what could be a groundbreaking moment in Ghanaian football.
