Ghana’s National Men’s Football Under 20 Team striker Jerry Afriyie has rejoined the Black Satellites camp in the lead up to the team’s quarterfinal clash against Egypt.
The crucial game kicks off on Monday, May 12 at 15:00 GMT with Ghana taking on the host nation of the 2025 AFCON Under 20 Championship.
A win qualifies the winning team to the semifinals and a place in this year’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup that is set to be hosted in September.
Afriyie featured in Ghana’s 1-1 draw with D.R. Congo and a 1-0 win over defending champions Senegal before departing to his Spanish club CD Lugo.
Teams have the right to recall players since the ongoing competition isn’t organized directly by FIFA and Lugo used the loophole to call on Afriyie to compete in its game against Gimnastic in the Spanish Federacion League.

Afriyie scored and assisted a goal in the 2-2 draw for Lugo in the game that was played this past weekend. Ghana is the only African nation to win the Under 20 World Cup.
