Despite winning streak against Hearts, we need to stay focused on Sunday- Karim Zito

Abdul Karim Zito, Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, has called on his team to stay focused for its crunch game against Accra Hearts of Oak despite the Porcupine Warriors fine run in recent outings against the Phobian club.

Zito said this in a pre-game interview as Kotoko prepare to take on Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 4 at 15:00 GMT.

Kotoko have bagged four straight wins against Hearts in all competitions including wins in the Democracy Cup and a 1-0 win at the Baba Yara Stadium in the 2024-2025 season first round matchup.

However, Zito is adamant his team needs to stay focused to maintain the fine streak of results against Kotoko’s archrivals.

“We are going in with the mentality of winning…they [Hearts] knowing very well that they’ve lost for some time against Kotoko, I think they will double up their effort.”

“What we have to put in mind is, despite the favourable results in the four matches, we still have to stay focused with good attitude towards our objective so that we get the results” Zito said.

Kotoko rank fourth in the league and sit three points off league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
