Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo registered his sixth assist of the 2024-2025 season in a bizarre fashion as AFC Bournemouth scored a big win to keep its hopes of qualifying to compete in the UEFA Conference League alive.
Bournemouth came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium with Semenyo assisting Dean Huijsen’s goal in the 67th minute.
Semenyo stepped off the bench and delivered a long throw-in for Huijsen to head into the right side of the net beating Arsenal keeper David Raya in the process.
Black Stars player Semenyo, was a surprise absence in Bournemouth’s starting lineup after bagging his ninth league goal of the season in the Cherries’ 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
The win over Arsenal moves Bournemouth into eighth place with 53 points and two points ahead of ninth ranked Fulham FC. Semenyo has 11 goals in 38 games in all competitions.

Fellow Black Stars player, Thomas Partey, lasted the entire duration of the game and played a key role in Declan Rice’s goal for Arsenal.
Partey returned to the starting lineup for Arsenal after missing out the Gunners 1-0 to PSG in the UEFA Champions League semifinals first leg due to suspension.

He is in line to play in the return leg on Wednesday, May 7 in France.
