Arsenal Football Club manager Mikel Arteta says he wants Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey to stay with the Gunners beyond this season.
He said this in his pre-game press conference ahead of Arsenal’s final game of the 2024-2025 season against Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
Partey’s five year deal he signed after moving from Spanish side Atletico Madrid, comes to an end in June and the Black Stars deputy captain’s team is negotiating with Arsenal on a new deal but Arteta wants Partey to stay.
“In regards to Thomas [Partey], consistency-wise, it’s been his best season. I think the way he’s played, performed, his availability has been exceptional and he’s a really important player for us. Yeah (I want him to stay).”

Partey has played 51 games this campaign ahead of the season finale on Sunday, May 25 which is the most games he has played for Arsenal in a season after enduring an injury riddled time at the London club.

The 31 year old has four goals and three assists in 51 games in all competition in the 2024-2025 season.
