Ghana’s Men’s 4×100 Relay Team has qualified to compete in this year’s World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, Japan in September after finishing second in its Heat at the ongoing World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China.

Team Ghana finished in second place in the first of three heats with a time of 38.32 seconds; Ghana’s qualification comes on the back of failing to qualify on Day One of the competition after finishing third in its heat with a time of 38.49 seconds.

Ibrahim Fuseini ran the anchor leg for Ghana and delivered a blistering run to place Ghana in second place and seal qualification to the World Championship.

Fuseini run a time of 9.04 seconds but narrowly missed out on first place. France won the Heat with a time of 38.31 seconds.

Like Ghana’s race on Day One, Fuseini was the standout performer on Day Two of the Relays as his brilliant run clinched Ghana’s place at the World Championships.
