Declan Rice has heaped praise on Ghana’s Thomas Partey stating that the Black Stars deputy captain doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
He said this in a pre-game interview ahead of Arsenal’s crucial UEFA Champions League semifinals clash against Paris Saint-Germain in France with Arsenal trailing 1-0 from the first leg.
Partey missed the first leg due to a suspension and his presence was felt early in the contest as the French side dominated the game’s early proceedings and got the game’s only goal in the fourth minute through Ousmane Dembele.
On pairing with Partey for the big game on Wednesday, May 7, Rice was full of compliments for the former Atletico Madrid player stating,

“The best thing about playing with Thomas [Partey] is the calmness he brings to play with the team. Before I came to Arsenal there was so much talk about how good he is. He doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves. I am quite lucky Thomas is there and he lets me roam up and down.”

Partey is in the final months of his contract with Arsenal and negotiations between his camp and the Gunners on a new deal have been reported.
