Kpando Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has swatted away any suggestions of being under pressure as his team continues to battle for the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League title.
He made this admission in a pre-game interview ahead of Lions game against Young Apostles in Wenchi on Sunday, May 25 at 15:00 GMT.
In the interview, Hayford stated that his team is dealing with fatigue after playing out a goalless draw with Basake Holy Stars in Ayinase only a few days ago but on the subject of the title chase, the veteran coach stated that he doesn’t feel the pressure to win the title with just three games to see out the season. “I’ve gone beyond pressure because we said we didn’t want to struggle as we did last season and that is over but now we are contending for the league title so there is no pressure. Pressure will be on those who planned to win the league…that’s where the pressure will come but not on us.”

Lions trail league leaders Nations FC by just three points ahead of Sunday’s game. Nations take on defending league champions FC Samartex this weekend.
