The Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee has handed down tough sanctions to Nations FC following their controversial abandonment of their Ghana Premier League (GPL) fixture against Basake Holy Stars.
The Committee, led by Osei Kwadwo Adow, Esq., found Nations FC guilty of forfeiting the game and rejecting their counter-protest in the process.
Under Article 33(1)(b) of the GFA regulations, Nations FC have been ruled to have forfeited the game, with a 3-0 win awarded to Basake Holy Stars, who also receive three points as a result while Nations got three points deducted from it’s point tally to slip to fifth place from second in the standings.
In addition to losing the game, Nations FC will be docked three points from their league total and fined GH₵2,500; split equally between Basake Holy Stars and the GFA.
The committee further instructed the GFA Prosecutor to review the match officials’ reports and take appropriate disciplinary action against any individuals found culpable.

Nations FC now drop to fifth place with 57 points and have up to 24 hours to appeal the ruling upon receipt.
