Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is close to joining Italian Serie A side Atalanta BC ahead of the 2025-2026 campaign from English Premier League side Southampton.

This is according to sports journalist and Italian football transfer expert Nicolo Schira who stated on his x (formerly Twitter) page that the Black Stars player will be handed a four year deal with the final year being an optional year for the team should the deal get completed.

Schira added that Southampton and Atalanta are working on an 18 million Euro deal that includes two million euros in add-ons regarding Sulemana’s transfer.

Should the deal get finalized, Sulemana will join Ivan Juric at Atalanta after the pair worked together briefly at Southampton in the recently ended season.

Under Juric, Sulemana had his most consistent run of appearances and delivered his best performance of the 2024-2025 campaign in Southampton’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Juric was appointed as Atalanta head coach following long tenured coach Gianpiero Gasperini’s departure to AS Roma.

Former Hellas Verona and Torino head coach Juric, left Southampton after the club’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed.

Sulemana scored two goals and added three assists in 30 games in all competitions at Southampton last season.
