Goalkeeper Fredrick Asare’s time at Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has officially come to an end following the conclusion of his three year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.

Talks between Asare’s camp and Kotoko over a possible new deal broke down and Kotoko officially announced the departure of the 26 year old former Accra Lions player.

Asare was the biggest name in the list of players who have exited the club following the team’s 2-1 win over Golden Kick in the MTN FA Cup Final that qualifies Kotoko to the CAF Confederation Cup. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“I came here as a young boy, but after three wonderful years, this club has transformed me into a warrior…FAAABULOUS; the greatest” he wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page after his departure was announced.

The shot stopper joined Kotoko on a three year deal after impressing for Lions and made his Kotoko debut on October 31, 2022 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
