New Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club signing Hubert Gyau has pegged his move to the Porcupine Warriors as a big opportunity that would aid his football development.

He said this in an interview with Kotoko media in his first address after penning a four year deal following the conclusion of his transfer from fellow Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Berekum Chelsea after impressing over the past two seasons.

The midfielder’s signing comes on the back of a series of departures from the club in recent weeks following the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season.

Kotoko finished third in the league and won the MTN FA Cup that qualifies them to the CAF Confederation Cup but have let go of five players including goalkeeper Fredrick Asare with more expected to leave in the coming days. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“I’m proud to be joining Asante Kotoko,” Gyau told Kotoko media “I believe this is the right place for me to develop further. My aim is to help the club win things immediately, and to use this opportunity to take another big step in my career by earning a move to a top European club one day” Gyau said.
