Ghana forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is staying in Switzerland after all despite getting his contract with FC Zurich terminated recently.
Mere days after his deal with the Swiss top tier side FC Zurich got terminated after a two year stint, Barnieh’s time in Switzerland will continue after signing to join FC Aarau.
Afriyie Barnieh has signed a two year deal with the team that competes in the Swiss lower division and the former Accra Hearts of Oak player would be hoping his stay is more productive than his time at FC Zurich.
Barnieh scored just two goals and added four assists in 50 games in all competitions for Zurich and spent time with Zurich’s junior side.
FC Aarau finished second in the 10 team Swiss Challenge League behind league winners Thun; Aarau finished with 61 points while Thun recorded 72 points from 36 games.
