Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club goalkeeper Fredrick Asare has officially joined South Africa side Durban City Football Club.
The move comes ahead of Durban City’s involvement in the upcoming 2025-2026 Betway Premiership in the South African top tier level of club football competition.
The club made the announcement on Wednesday, July 23 amid a flurry of player arrivals for the club that gained promotion from the National First Division.
Asare was one of four new players announced by the club; forward Trevor Mokwena from Upington City and midfielder Brooklyn Poggenpoel were announced as new arrivals.
26 year old Asare will battle for the starting goalkeeper’s spot with fellow new arrival Darren Keet; details of Asare’s contract with Durban City weren’t provided.
