Dwight Howard is going through one of the most difficult moments of his life-and this time, it has nothing to do with basketball. Just six months after saying “I do,” his wife, Amy Luciani, has filed for divorce, bringing an end to what once seemed like a passionate and promising love story.
The rapper and reality TV star submitted the filing on July 1 in Georgia, claiming her marriage to the former NBA star is “irretrievably broken” with no chance of reconciliation. The news shocked many, but even more surprising was how Howard responded-calmly, faithfully, and with a smile. “Hurting, but still smiling, still fighting, still believing ,” he posted on X. A message that speaks to someone who, despite being wounded, refuses to give in.
Beyond the heartbreak, the divorce could seriously impact Dwight’s finances. According to initial reports, Luciani is not only seeking to end the marriage-she also wants half of Howard’s assets and spousal support.

With a net worth estimated at $140 million, Howard could be looking at a loss of up to $70 million if those demands are granted. All of it, after less than a year of marriage.
