Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team head coach, Kim Lars Bjorkegren has labelled his team as the better unit and one that didn’t deserve to lose in the semifinals of the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON.
The Black Queens lost 4-2 in a penalty shootout to Morocco to miss out on a place in the finals of the competition that is taking place in Morocco.
Ghana squandered several chances particularly in the first half and were made to pay for those misses in the penalty shootout as Ghana’s Evelyn Badu and Comfort Yeboah missed their attempts.
Speaking in a post-game interview, Bjorkegren praised the efforts of the team and believes they deserved to win and make it to the AFCON finals for the first time since 2006 stating,
“I think we were the better team in this game and I think we deserved to win. We were a little bit unlucky today but I can’t be more proud of the girls and how hard they worked.”

Ghana will play against South Africa for the chance to win bronze while Morocco take on Nigeria in the finals.
