Ghana striker Doris Boaduwaa will miss the Black Queens’ all important game against Tanzania on Monday, July 14 at 19:00 GMT but Ghana head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren believes that the team has good options to replace the Hapoel Jerusalem player.

Boaduwaa picked up yellow cards in Ghana’s games against South Africa and Mali and will miss the must win game on Monday with the Black Queens needing a win to progress to the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON.

Speaking in a pre-game interview in the presence of Black Queens midfielder Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Lars Bjorkegren stated that the team has options to replace the reigning Ghana Football Awards Female Player of the Year winner.

“We have many players that can play in the 9 position. We can also potentially change the system if we want. We have other players like [Princella] Adubea is one player who has played there for example but we have many more…so there are good options even if we are always going to miss Doris.”

Doris Boaduwaa won the Female Footballer of the Year Award at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards
