Ghana Black Stars winger Christopher Baah-Bonsu’s competitive debut for Saudi Pro League side Al-Qasiah ended prematurely with mixed results.

The fast rising 20 year old winger joined the club in a shock move this offseason and made his debut in Al-Qasiah’s Saudi Super Cup semi final game that ended in a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Al-Ahli Saudi.

The former Genk player assisted Gaston Alvarez’s goal in the eight minute after brilliant work down the left wing to steer a cross to the head of Alvarez who directed the ball into the net.

However, he got sent off in the 42nd minute via a straight red card for sticking his studs through the calf area of Al-Ahli’s Roger Ibanez that forced Al-Qasiah to play the rest of the contest with 10 men.

In his time on the field, Baah-Bonsu completed 10 of 12 accurate passes while winning three of five ground duels.

Former stars in Europe’s top five leagues Ivan Toney and Franck Kessie were among the scorers for Al-Ahli with the win setting up a clash against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr on Saturday, August 23 at 12:00 GMT.

JUDGE LEFT THE RED!

Bonsu Baah came too hard on Ibañez and received a red card after a VAR review! So far, there have been some very controversial incidents highlighted by the video footage. Did you think it was a red card? #GOAT #SupercopaSauditaNoGOAT pic.twitter.com/2Ryd5vZKt1
