Ghana forward Jordan Ayew missed his penalty kick attempt in Leicester City’s 3-2 loss on penalties to Huddersfield Town to crash out of the 2025-2026 Carabao Cup campaign.
Ayew was the first Leicester City player to miss his kick attempt as the Foxes went on to lose 3-2 after playing out a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Coming off a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the opening game of the EFL Championship season, the Foxes twice lost the game lead en route to the loss.
Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew, who is quite prolific from the penalty spot, played just nine minutes of the contest after coming off the bench in the 82nd minute to replace Zambia international Patson Daka.
In his brief spell on the pitch, Ayew had six touches, completed three of four passes accurately and attempted a shot that went off target.

Fellow Black Stars player, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, didn’t compete in the game; the former Sporting Lisbon player recently recovered from an ACL injury.

Leicester City next take on Preston in the Championship away from home on Saturday, August 16 at 14:00 GMT.
