Bechem United Football Club new signing Aminu Mohammed has communicated his ambitions of getting a call up to Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars ahead of the start of the 2025-2026 Ghana Premier League season.

Aminu Mohammed made this comment in his first interview as a Bechem United player after joining the club as a free agent officially earlier this week.

Mohammed was a highly touted talent who ended up on Manchester City for a reported fee of $1.5 million after starring in Ghana for West African Football Academy. He excelled for Ghana at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2017 in India.

Looking to resuscitate his career, Mohammed made the bold statement of wanting to feature in the Black Stars as his target in the upcoming campaign.

“Everybody-here at Bechem- wants to help me to get back on track so I’m very happy to be here.”

“My target for the season is to score a lot of goals, help my teammates and hopefully get called by the National Team which is the Black Stars” he said in the interview.

Bechem open the upcoming campaign on September 13 against Bibiani Gold Stars in Bibiani. The Black Stars are in serious contention to qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup as it leads Group I standings ahead of September qualification games against Chad and Mali on September 4 and 8 respectively.
